‘Faith is a very personal matter for every living individual on the planet. One must never challenge other people’s faith. Faith is all what many people may have to see them stand upright and live through the struggles of their life; it instills hope in them for a better tomorrow, and keeps them going. An act of criticizing and challenging other people’s faith could be compared to an act of stripping a person naked, or removing the roof of other person’s house, or even making a young child orphan.
People may belong to any religious group but their world of faith could possibly differ, depending upon their spirituality, upbringing, education, physical and mental health, and their social environment.
Students of science have an irresponsible (callous) tendency to challenge the faith of other people. It is akin to a knee-jerk reaction, possibly born out of their immaturity and shallow thinking. Such people try to replace a ‘religion of faith’ with a ‘religion of science’, called scientism. Little do they realise that, as long as science is not able to conquer all diseases and the death, people will cling to faith, whatever that is, such as worshiping a cow or praying to a tree.
Science is a tool – a mechanism – to uncover the mysteries of the nature, it is not the final answer to all human pursuits and queries.’ …. Bill K Koul
